Croline Kauffman-Kirschnick has been appointed president of Electric Motor Repair Co., a Rosedale-based service company that employs 200 people.
Kauffman-Kirschnick succeeds her father, Roger Kauffman, who succeeded his father, Harry Kauffman, as president of EMR in 1985.
“Over the years, Caroline has steadily demonstrated her strong leadership skills, keen business sense and remarkable dedication to our employees that has propelled EMR to be the industry leader we are today,” Roger Kauffman said in a statement. “As we also celebrate 90 years in business, I am thrilled to be able to pass my family legacy on to the next generation who has unquestionably shown the same unwavering dedication as the generations before.”
Electric Motor Repair provides service, repair, installation and sales to the commercial kitchen, refrigeration, industrial motor, elevator and marine industries throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. It was founded in 1927, repairing small household appliances such as electric razors and window fans.
Like her father, Kauffman-Kirschnick started working at EMR while in high school before joining the company full time in 2003. She’s since worked in accounts receivable, human resources, operations and sales for EMR as she’s learned about the company. She has been the company’s general manager overseeing all branches and service areas.
“I am honored and very humbled to be given this opportunity to serve the company that I grew up in and that my father and grandfather have dedicated their lives to building over the last five decades,” Kauffman-Kirschnick said in a statement. “As we take this next step together as a company, I look forward to continuing their hard work and spearheading the next technological and cultural evolution of EMR.”
