DC motor is widely used to drive the movement of the robot.

  In the robot control system,DC motor is widely used to drive the movement of the robot. How ever,the robot applied in unstructured environment usually needs better performance in the motor control. Therefore,a new kind of PID controller,which is combined of the normal PID controller and single-neuron PID controller,is proposed in this paper. The novel PID controller w as designed and simulated in MATLAB,and the result of the simulation show s that the new PID
controller can meet the control request perfectly. The response of the simulation is rapid and accurate, which increases the stability of the system operation. In addition,a GUI platform for the DC motor control system w as also built in MATLAB / GUI,w hich w ill provide a convenient method to apply the control algorithm into other systems.
